Three case studies: Tiles, Metallic & Lighting Effects.
More tiles for the film industry
Signcraft were commissioned to produce a set of Moroccan tiles for the film set of the new Brad Pitt film currently in production in West London, it is a romantic light comedy set in the Second World War. After a slight tinkering with the colours, we managed to produce a superb reproduction of authentic tiles from that area.
The printing process uses UV cured inks that stay attached to the substrate very well, they can also be sealed with a gloss or satin finish for total protection and are a great option for interior designers, when creating bespoke tiled areas.
Top end metallic effect text
We now offer a superb range of metallic finishes for text and logos, in fact for almost anything that can be sprayed; the process is quite unique in that the coating is a mixture of fine metal powder, held in a suspending liquid that dries hard and fast onto pre-cut acrylic forms.
After spraying and curing the letters are hand polished to a gloss finish, the bronze and copper finishes will slowly take on a patination effect in the same manner as pure metals would, the steel effect will rust and we can also produce chrome; all creating the effect of high end cast metal text.
We were commissioned to produce corporate reception signage with a twist, the individual logos needed to illuminate in their true colours as the signage was created in a neutral brushed stainless steel. This was achieved by experimenting with light translucent films applied to the clear back trays of the logos.
The purple effect was quite difficult and was eventually achieved by using a violet film which when illuminated by the intense brilliant white LED’s which gave a perfect purple wash.
Adaptability and experience has provided a perfect solution to an excellent brief set by our clients.
