The film industry in the UK is buzzing!
Rembrandt from Silent Witness TV series

Film & TV projects Signcraft has been providing specialist services to film and television over the years, which is a high pressure and fine detail operation. We have worked for art directors and production companies, finding ways to produce high fidelity reproductions on some interesting substrates. These have included printing an antique map onto velum for the opening sequences on the new Jungle Book movie and reproduction old Dutch tiles for the kitchen scenes in the Cinderella movie. We also created a full size reproduction of a Rembrandt oil painting for the TV series Silent Witness, which tested the repo-fidelity … Continue reading

We are actively in the process of up-grading this equipment in order to cope with the up-turn in orders, we are doubling the print heads to improve on printing times and at the same time maintaining the amazing high quality and fidelity of the prints. Our system providers, Spandex are excellent; we have been overwhelmed with the success and team support we have received since installing this equipment. Phil Morgan

I have to announce the sad passing of Phil Morgan, one of the founder members of Signcraft and a good friend. Phil lost his battle with cancer on the 10th October and leaves his two sons Craig and Ray. Phil had run our graphics studio for many years, until a year ago when his colleague and protégé Andrew Brown undertook his rôle, and we all agree that he will be and has been sorely missed. R.I.P. Phil, from all your friends at Signcraft. Bob Colwell

Printed Tiles for Film Set

We had the busiest summer for a number of years, recently fitting a massive hoarding in Newport, South Wales, and printing imitation antique tiles for a film set at nearby Pinewood Studios. All have been produced on our fabulous new Swiss Q ultra violet flatbed printer, which is controlled by the software shown in the image to the left; there are more images of the printer and the printed tiles, below. As printing and signage specialists, we have clients throughout the country: Tony White flew to Edinburgh to survey another large project and we have markers to work in Manchester … Continue reading

Vacant Space: Designs for Improving the High Street
vacant space graphics

There is increasing vacant space in high streets throughout the UK and Signcraft has been creatively designing, producing and applying attractive graphics to improve the shopping experience in town centres and shopping centres – and to help landlords in letting the premises. Too many empty retail units contribute to a sad and sorry effect on shoppers who may then stay away. We are contributing to a more up-beat environment with our lively graphics. Innovative ideas from our senior designer, Emma Hunt, are making a good impact. Our clients include commercial agency and surveying practices, asset managers and design houses across Britain, who … Continue reading
